In my experience, the best way to help me feel confident and focused before my headshots IS to make a good list.

The first item on my list and not in any particular order is

  1. Skintone undergarments - like a skin tone bra, underwear, and shapewear. My favorite brand to try is skims. The best choice for your bra is to be a smooth t-shirt bra so no lumps or bumps are showing up on camera.

Next up we have your go-to denim.

2. Dark denim skinny jeans - these dark demin’s have been my go-to in my set bag for years! I know they fit well. For headshots, you won’t see your bottom half but even wearing them to your session is an option. This is a good place to start.

Third, always bring a natural make-up kit.

3. Natural Makeup kit - things to include are setting powder, lip color, blush, and concealer. These items might need to be applied heavier because the lights can wash out makeup.

Fourth, tame those flyaways!

4. Hair Kit - my hair kit includes light hairspray, a comb, a cordless straightener, and hair ties. Touch-ups on hair happen so often that it’s great to have these items handy!

Fifth, let’s focus on those hands!

5. Nail Kit - I bring my nail kit everywhere. Be sure to include, a nail file, cuticle oil, nail clippers, and natural color nail polish. My go-to is Zoya Nail Perfector - pink.

That sums up the 5 simple tips to make your headshot session feel like a walk in the park! If you want to take a deeper dive into posing, making sure your shots are what you expect and wardrobe options book a consultation now!
