A simple at home manicure can seem daunting or like it isn’t the same as when the professionals do it, right? Wrong, there are so many amazing, affordable products I cant wait to share with you that are going to be a game changer for your at home manicure routine.

Sometimes, time isn’t on your side or you don’t have the money to splurge on your salon manicure. And that’s ok, but what’s not OK is walking around out here with nails in need of serious TLC because of those two reasons. So pour yourself your favorite drink and lets get down to it.

Some of you might know, I’m a queen of a clean natural manicure. Mainly because I’m a hand model and that’s pretty much the realm I live in. However, pre-hand model days, I used to get so creative with my nails. Painting designs, adding gems, different colors, glitter - the whole nine! It was a fun creative outlet, which is my fave. Since I had to pull back on all the creativity, I began to perfect the natural manicure by finding the best products, polishes and tools to help maintain my nails in their natural state. If you do a weekly at home manicure I promise your nails will be growing, stronger and more radiant than ever. Oh and it’s have the cost and time than going to a salon. Well, when salons open back up.

First, remove any old nail polish with a cotton round and acetone polish remover. I know acetone is quite horrible but it works so good and I have yet to find an alternative. If you know of one, please share. After polish is removed, I soak in hot water, hydrogen peroxide and a delicious scented hand soap to aid in the next step, which is cuticle removal. Two products that are amazing for cuticle removal are CND Cuticle Eraser - $11 and Cuticle Nippers and pusher - $14. Apply Cuticle eraser, rub in then use pusher to push down cuticles. Rinse product off and wipe with rag then go into nipping access cuticles with nippers. Now that cuticles are done, I go into shaping, trimming and filing the nail. I like using a medium/fine file under $1. Then I start to smooth out the top of the nail with a finishing block - $1.19. This helps to smooth out ridges and creates a smooth look even if you don’t apply polish. Next I rinse my hands and apply polish. My absolute fave polish is Sparitual. They’re vegan, cruelty free and super fast drying. The most important step is hydrating your cuticles. My favorite is Lavender Rose Cuticle Oil - $5 that I created. There you go you’re new at home manicure routine for under $30!! crazy savings. Happy manicuring :)
