1. The Camera is your friend or lover
Truly you need to establish a relationship with that camera lens. Picture your best friend, mom, or lover in that lens and let your personality shine. This technique will allow different expressions and reactions based on who you view in the lens. Maybe you’re bubbly and happy with your best friend or your mom your very endearing and your lover you are more flirty with your expressions. Keep this in your toolbox and you will be shocked at your transformation.
2. Wear clothes to make you feel good
From my experience, when I have a great-fitting pair of pants or shirt I feel like I can conquer the world. This is the feeling you want in front of the camera. This is your big moment. It’s your time to shine! So pre-plan what you’re going to wear and try everything on. If it feels good, you will look good!

3. hire hair and make- up
Yes, there is a skill set in being able to do hair and make-up for a camera versus an event or in person. Trained professionals know this and will apply makeup and hair with that in mind.
4. Practice in the Mirror
Go ahead, take 5 minutes, and practice posing, facial expressions, and different ways of smiling in the mirror. The first few shots in the camera might not be your best because you're just getting warmed up. It does take time. Get the awkwardness out in the bathroom mirror. Let your body build up some muscle memory so it’s not the first time you're doing this. This is a tip to help you move more naturally.
